TIWIZY is the directory of Morocco's real local businesses: neighbourhood restaurants, craftspeople, salons, everyday services, taxis, guides, hammams and places to stay — verified on site by our team and published in five languages.
Why this directory exists
Being visible online costs money. A website, decent photos, search ranking, advertising: that is expenditure, time and know-how that not everyone has. As a result, the establishments with that budget naturally take the top spots — and they are not always the best addresses.
Meanwhile the msemen folded by hand for thirty years, the craftsman stitching leather at the back of the souk, the driver who always runs the meter, the neighbourhood hammam: nowhere to be found online. Not for lack of quality, but for lack of means. Their custom stops at the end of the street, while millions of visitors are looking for exactly what they do.
TIWIZY exists to restore the balance. We travel, we photograph, we record the position to the metre, we translate — free of charge, and with no commission on what the business earns afterwards. The owner has nothing to install, nothing to pay and nothing to learn: they carry on with their trade, and their shopfront exists online.
“TIWIZY” comes from the Amazigh word “tiwizi”, meaning neighbourly mutual aid: the hand people lend one another for work nobody could do alone. That is precisely the idea — putting digital tools within reach of those who have been left outside them, so that the benefits of tourism, and of the 2030 World Cup in particular, also reach neighbourhood businesses.
What it changes for visitors
Addresses genuinely visited rather than sponsored, a direct WhatsApp contact with no middleman, and price benchmarks recorded in the field — enough to know what a dish or a ride really costs before you order.
